Please improve the ChatGPT Images Library by allowing users to manage generated images separately from the conversations that created them.
Right now, if I want to remove an unwanted generated image, I may have to delete the entire chat associated with that image. That is not ideal.
Users should be able to:
- Select multiple images at once
- Bulk delete selected images
- Delete an image without deleting the original conversation
- Use Select All
- Select images by date or date range
- Bulk download selected images
- Have a Recently Deleted / Trash area before permanent deletion
The most important improvement is this:
Deleting an image should NOT require deleting the conversation that created it.
Generated images and chat history serve two different purposes. A user may want to keep the conversation, instructions, prompts, or project history while removing duplicate, failed, outdated, or unwanted images.
For anyone who creates a large number of images, deleting them one at a time is extremely inefficient.
The Images Library should function more like a normal photo library, with multi-select, bulk actions, and independent image deletion.
This would make ChatGPT significantly easier to organize and use for people who regularly create visual content.
