Error 429 - cant use the API

So guys, how i supose to use this API if even after i recharge the api keep saying that i already reached the rate limit, even thou i DIDNT make any API calls.

Here’s the deal, i create my account to try something, and i keep getting this error, i was thinking that i was calling the right endpoint, but even in the playground i keep getting this error.

Some information: i recharge 5$ just to test my idea at 20:00 (8PM), i could use but i see here in the forum that could happen for some hours after the recharge. But 12 hours has passed and still cant use.

Already minted new API key after tier 1 granted.
The key have all acess.
Already removed any limit from organizations
I have 5$ in billing overview.

Can someone help?

Have you tried accessing the OpenAI platform, going to Settings, and checking the ‘Limits’ section on the left-hand menu? There, you should find detailed information about your API limits.

Have you tried the “Prompts Playground” to make a basic chat request, not relying on your correct use of organization API key or code? Does its models list include post-activation “gpt-4o”?

It did work, i just recharge another time with plus 5 bucks and it worked like a charm.

Just to be clear, if the minimum amount of recharge is 10 bucks, why they let you recharge 5?

It was not working even in playground, but after a second recharge it all worked out.

It’s supposed to work. There have been glitches where the initial credit purchase didn’t activate an account or has taken extended periods to unlock a new org.
