In an attempt to “work with the garage door up”, I have recently started sharing a large chunk of my notes that I actively collect on various topics that interest me. These include anything from technical notes to travel or leisure reading of books and articles. However, contextually searching through them can be a pain. I figured I’d solve this problem by building my own search engine to query my digital second brain.
I have been super impressed by how well it does and has helped me in bringing coherence to these notes. Take it out for a spin!
For those interested, it leverages OpenAI embeddings + Pinecone for querying. All of this is tied in with GPT-4 to answer queries given only the information derived from the retrieved notes.
