I believe that in the future, if ChatGPT users had more memory available, the AI could get to know us better and offer innovative features to create meaningful connections between people.

I envision a system where ChatGPT could group users based on personalized parameters chosen by each individual. This tool could serve many purposes:

Finding romantic partners based on shared values and interests.

Creating friendships between people with similar hobbies, music tastes, movies, or games.

Connecting people with similar symptoms to exchange information about rare diseases, treatments, or simply emotional support.

Uniting groups with common complaints or legal issues to share experiences or seek legal advice.

Bringing together religious communities or fans passionate about specific topics.

The idea is that each user could decide whether they want to participate in these connections and select the criteria they find most important.

I think this could be a great tool to foster human relationships and solve common problems, all while giving users full control and ensuring privacy.

That’s an interesting idea.
The privacy implications are a bit worrisome though.

I keep that in mind, which is why the user would be the one granting permissions for this tool, adjusted to their needs.

In the end, it seems scary, but what about Facebook, Instagram… or what we consent to on Google? And to browse websites, we have to accept who knows what in languages we don’t even understand.

A good policy and user consent to use it would be enough.

If memory were stored in each user’s personal cloud, and they could organize everything into folders, share what they want, delete, or ask the AI to summarize or just do the work without leaving traces for humans… there are many possibilities.

Every time someone mentions privacy concerns, I remember talking about the Maldives and then suddenly seeing ads about the Maldives all over Facebook.

I think privacy worries the rich or powerful more, because as for me, if they spy on me… they’re going to get bored.
