Company API account wrongly deactivated over a child-safety flag - requesting human re-review (Case C-8Zr0gazSGgMm)

Hi all,

I am hoping a moderator or someone from OpenAI can help flag this case for a human re-review.

Our company’s API account was deactivated over an alleged policy violation related to child safety. We have never used the API for anything like that. The account was used only for three small AI demos on our company website - a chat, a search, and a recommendation feature - all built on vector stores, and none of them can produce that kind of content:

We are a registered company and we are careful with our API keys, so I strongly suspect that the account was compromised, or that one of our keys was leaked and misused by someone else.

I appealed, but the appeal was upheld with a standard reply and no explanation of what was actually found. As far as I can tell, both the original flag and the appeal were handled automatically. My earlier questions (after the first warning on April 6) were left without any answer.

Could a moderator please help escalate this for a real human review? I would also really appreciate knowing what specifically was detected, so that I can understand it and fix it if a key was misused.

Has anyone else been through this recently (the deactivation waves around June) and found a working path to get a proper human review?

Hey alabunskiy, welcome to the forum!

Thanks for flagging this. I'll take a look at the case and see what can be done.
