Codex Web eating lots of RAM on Chrome

Has anyone been facing this lately? What looks like a memory leak in the Codex website. RAM usage explodes and tab crashes.

yes, python project used 6GB ram.

Same here. Just close the tab, leave Codex working for a bit then open the task again. It’s working this way.

Same issue here. Making C# scripts for Unity takes 17GB of RAM. I don’t mind taking my RAM, but it just lags when I type in :frowning:

Just use Firefox until this bug is fixed. That worked for me!

Had the same issue. Used RAM increased with around 100 MB per second. I’m using firefox now and RAM usage stays stable.

Same issue here.

Issue present on Chrome Version 138.0.7204.97 (Official Build) (64-bit) running on Windows 11 Business 10.0.26100.

Swapped over to Firefox, no issue.

Haven’t experienced this issue on Mac in Safari but did in Chrome.

The longer the tab is open the higher the RAM usage climbs. I got it to peak out at 20GB with no signs of capping out before I closed the tab.

Same issue, Version 137.0.7151.122 (x86_64), macOS 15.4.1

I have to do this haha, my computer got so slow that even my linters weren’t completing.

Over a month with this bug, bit silly now…

Four months passed away, it still exists

It’s crazy to me that just having a codex tab open can hang my entire machine. I have constantly close them and re-navigate to the page to get any hope of checking status on a prompt or entering a new one.

It’s not only that it takes a ton of RAM, but it also eats the CPU doing I don’t know what. I have a tab open right now where it has a completed task, and its using 150+% CPU doing nothing.
