Codex Browser - High Memory Usage

Has anyone else been experiencing issues with Codex in the browser? After using it for a while it will intermittently freeze and lag until a page refresh.

There seems to be some type of memory leak related to the JS/frontend. At times it will use >3.5 GB or memory according to the chrome tab.

It will take as much as it can. Over 32GB foe me.

Yes. Happening to me too. Huge memory leak as soon as you run a prompt in Codex

Same here,
went up to 15 GB, already updated chrome and windows.
Clearing cache also doesn’t work

Check for Event Listener Leaks

OK. Looks like I’ve solved the issue. It’s the Even Listener Leaks. I disabled two chrome extensions that might have an affect, one being MetaMask, and other is a CORS related extension. I disabled those two and it fixed the memory leak problem.

Please check your chrome extensions everyone.

Try disabling some of your Chrome extensions. Looks like a Listening leak.

4 gb is default ussage.
Closing the browser once in a while and not keep it open constant helps.
it is growing in usage depending on the amount of tasks you execute.

For me it helps.. to make todo lists.. then simply ask to execute open todo tasks..
then for the changes i open my phone and simply enter “execute open todo tasks.” each time
till my phone has responce back from codex that there are no more new tasks..

then i do a git push from phone.. not always possible.. then i open browser again to make push request.

this is a work around i know.. but helps .. then again i have 64gb mem in pc

i have chatgtp and github both installed on my phone also..
and that works realy well.. execute todo tasks when have time to send them out.
so i can simply take a walk, do house tasks .. and other stuff.. and in everning i open pc ..

Yes there is definitely an issue. I was just checking to see if other notice this problem too.

Not much we can unless it is some browser/extension related - I was hoping someone from open would notice…
