I think youāre showing a screen from the browser UI (chatgpt.com) ..not the desktop app? I donāt see that?
Have it installed on Xubuntu 22.04 LTS. So far, working great. Would be nice to be able to start it on startup(login), minimized to the tray.
We need support for Arch / Cachy OS. Any plans?
I just killed the process on both desktop and phone 1 or maybe 2 times; crude but it worked. Running on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS
Remote connections have stopped working for me on the Linux desktop app. Pairing with my Pixel 8 completes successfully, and both devices say theyāre connected, but the Android app stays indefinitely on āReconnecting to ChatGPT desktop / trying to restore your Remote session.ā
It worked fine for several days and started happening yesterday. Iāve updated both apps, restarted them, signed out and back in, and paired again, but the problem remains.
Is anyone else seeing this with Linux and Android?

Good, I really disliked the IDE integrations for Codex, ended up a terminal bug again like it was 1999, no negative comments on the actual app quality yet, It opens, I can see the chats and archives better than the multiple IDEās I tried, copy paste works, hope its made in something solid like C++, Rust or Java so we donāt inevitably get surprises or inefficienciesā¦

First off, a huge thank you for bringing the ChatGPT and Codex desktop app to Linux. Itās an awesome step forward!
Iām currently using the preview and Iām really hoping youāll consider adding official Arch Linux support soon. Since Arch and Arch-based distros are incredibly popular among developers, they feel like the perfect target audience for a coding agent like Codex.
Right now, with official downloads limited to .deb and .rpm, those of us on Arch-based systems have to rely on unofficial, community-maintained repackages in the AUR. An official package for Pacman, or even better, an official Flatpak release, would be amazing. It would give users a much cleaner installation experience while keeping updates and package integrity safely under OpenAIās control.
If you ever need someone to beta test an Arch or Flatpak build, Iād gladly volunteer to help provide feedback!
Thanks again for supporting the Linux community. Official Arch support would really make this release feel complete.

Having deb and rpm is better than nothing, but what we really need is a proper Flatpak build. This thing would singlehandedly support all possible Linux distributions.
Supporting both x64 and ARM64 across major Linux distributions should make it easier for more developers to use Codex in their existing workflows.
