Same here … restart works but needs to be fixed 
Same for me. Lost Command+S in VS Code. Restarted ChatGPT app - good to go.
About an hour later, lost Command+W in Safari. Another ChatGPT exit/start fixed that too.
Just bizarre it can take over the entire keyboard.
Same here with version 1.2024.138 (1716432765). By the way, this has nothing to do with VS Code specifically, it affects all apps on macOS. This is abysmal QA/testing.

The problem seems to be the global hotkey. If you disable this, it should work again (found this solution in another thread on the same bug).
Same problem and definitely gobbled up some time figuring out what was going on… WEAK SAUCE
Came here and found the same bug. I wasted far too long thinking it was VS code related. Quitting the chatGPT app did not resolve it, neither did restarting VS code. Uninstalling chatGPT app worked, and will probably never install desktop app again after such a clumsy hijacking of my systems core functionality.
I spent about an hour asking ChatGPT to help me figure out what was wrong. I had just updated the OS in order to install GPT too, so I though it was related to that.
When I told GPT at the end that I found out the problem was IT’S fault, it didn’t even apologise.
