Copy Button Issue on Safari: "[object Object]" is Copied Instead of Text

I’ve encountered a problem with the copy button on the web version of ChatGPT when using Safari. Regardless of the response length (short or long), clicking the “Copy” button results in “[object Object]” being copied to the clipboard instead of the actual text. This issue does not occur when using Chrome; it seems specific to Safari.

Here are the details:

  • Steps to reproduce:
    1. Open ChatGPT in Safari.
    2. Generate any response (short or long).
    3. Click the “Copy” button under the response.
    4. Paste the copied content into any text editor or input field.
  • Expected behavior: The response text should be copied to the clipboard.
  • Actual behavior: “[object Object]” is copied instead.
  • Environment:
    • Platform: Web version of ChatGPT
    • Browser: Safari [17.5 (19618.2.12.11.6)]
    • Operating System: macOS Sonoma [14.5 (23F79)]

Since this issue only occurs on Safari, it might be related to browser compatibility. Please let me know if this is a known issue or if there is a workaround. Thank you for your assistance!

I have this same issue. While I can still select manually, the Copy button is simply broken in this context

I have same issue in Firefox
