From September 3 through September 12, ChatGPT Work repeatedly lost or mishandled established context, ignored source hierarchy, anchored on the wrong material, invented structures that were not requested, and moved from discussion into execution without authorization. Existing Work threads also stalled, stopped processing correctly, returned shallow or incomplete work, and sometimes appeared to still be working when no further execution was happening.
Work also repeatedly changed things outside the exact scope of the request. Narrow UI changes caused unrelated layout regressions, scaling problems, overlap issues, altered spacing, and damage to elements that had already been correct. Even after instructions were narrowed and supported with screenshots and direct visual references, Work continued to over-apply fixes and failed to preserve previously correct work.
Today September 12th, 2026 1:45PM, I stated 1 fix towards the damage recovery and this was it’s response: The immediate job is to fix[object Object].
Nope, Work, that is not quite right.
Is there an ETA on when ChatGPT Work is going to function again? It is not functioning on my account.
