I would like to share a few suggestions to improve the ChatGPT subscription experience. The current pricing page looks clean, but I believe it could do a much better job of helping users understand what they are paying for.
Here are the improvements I would love to see:
1. Clear Usage Limits
Instead of general descriptions such as “more usage” or “expanded access,” provide clearer information about message limits, image generation, advanced models, Codex, and other major features. If limits vary, explain how they work.
2. An Easy Side-by-Side Comparison
Allow users to compare Free, Go, Plus, and Pro in one table, with clear differences in features, usage allowances, model access, and restrictions.
3. Better Value for Money
Explain what type of user each plan is designed for and why upgrading is worthwhile. Users should be able to identify the plan that best fits their needs and budget without guessing.
4. A Personal Usage Dashboard
Introduce a dashboard showing how much usage remains, when limits reset, and which features consume the available allowance. This would be especially helpful for people who use ChatGPT professionally.
5. Fair and Transparent Plan Changes
When subscription benefits or usage limits change, clearly notify existing subscribers and explain the impact before the changes take effect. Customers should be able to make informed decisions about renewing or upgrading.
6. Flexible Additional Usage
Consider allowing users to purchase additional usage when they reach their plan limits, without forcing them to upgrade to a much more expensive subscription. Clear pricing and spending controls would make this more practical.
I understand that different models and features have different computing costs. My suggestion is not to provide unlimited resources at every price point, but to make the differences between plans clearer, pricing more predictable, and the overall experience more user-friendly.
ChatGPT has enormous potential, and improving subscription transparency would help users trust the plans they choose and get more value from their subscriptions.
