ChatGPT never thinks in the browser on my new laptop

As weird as the title sounds, that’s my precise issue. I have set up a new laptop yesterday (Ubuntu with Chrome) and logged into chatgpt.com with my ChatGPT Plus account. And whatever I ask it, it never thinks. I have definitely selected the Thinking model (5.1 Thinking or 5 Thinking) but anyways the model always just reponds immediately. Same for the legacy models o3/o4-mini.

If I open the same chat on my old laptop (older Ubuntu version with Chrome, same account) and continue it/regenerate an answer with Thinking, it thinks as expected. It also works as expected on my phone (both Android app and Chrome on Android).

I also opened chatpgt.com on my new laptop in an Incognito tab and even there it refuses to think. Clearing all browser data also did not work. There are also no console warnings or failed requests in the devtools.

Anyone seen this before or has an idea how to fix it? I don’t have the feeling that support would react to this.

PS: I also “proved” the model in fact does not think with a few test prompts than only can be solved when reasoning before. Example: ChatGPT - Math problem solution

I tried it on another Ubuntu device where I have never used my account before with Chrome + Firefox (both Incognito), and for both, Thinking does not work, too. Effectively, this means I can only use thinking on my existing clients but not any new ones.

Is Thinking still working for anyone else? https://status.openai.com/ looks all green

(Cloning my localStorage from the old browser where it working to the new one also did not fix it)
