I export my chats every week. Last Sunday everything still worked perfectly. Since a few days I get the email, but when I click on chat.html, I only get a blank page in my Safari browser on my Mac (latest version)

I’m currently using a google chrome extension for single conversation exports. This extension seems to be good. Search “ChatGPT Exporter - Extract chat convos easily”
I have the issue mentioned below - not getting any emails for any chats. It’s been like this for a week. Finally tried logging out of all devices, cleared all browsing data and still nothing. How do we report this to escalate it?
I contacted OpenAI support, and they’re looking into the issue. In the meantime, here are the troubleshooting steps I tried:
Cleared my browser cache
Logged out and back in
Logged out of all devices (since I couldn’t do this the first time, which is why I cleared the cache and tried again)
Tried exporting again, but still haven’t received it (though it hasn’t been 24 hours yet) *
Checked spam/junk folders
Double-checked email filters—nothing unusual there
The suggested to Consider using an alternative email: I haven’t tried this yet, but it might help if I can figure out how to export to a different email address.
It could also be an issue on their end, so you might want to contact support as well.
It should be noted, my exports haven’t been working since 8/29/2024.
when I say cleared - I mean cache, site data, cached images and other files, hosted app data… for all of time.
One time I found having a lot of conversations was the issue, so deleting old ones helped. However, have also tried that this time around.
I was originally getting emails (but not all chats), so more indicative of a problem on their end. And if multiple people are having the same issue, I suspect an issue their side.
Yeah, I was ready to come in and re-open this one, but it seems closed bug-threads can’t be reopened. So, happy to see there’s a new one (though the original point was slightly different.)
For me, it was two days ago I tried to export.
Then again yesterday.
No email. Again.
Nothing in spam, either.
I don’t know if you’ve solved it in the meantime but I checked the exported data this morning in the last email I received and it seems like nothing is missing; I must say that in these two days of downtime I’ve made several requests, in fact since yesterday evening I’ve received several emails with links to download the zip, which I imagine is related to the time I made the export request and therefore everything I did after is missing… I don’t know if this is also your case…
I have the same result as scottjlawson. Export is working - I got a notification last night from one of my previous requests. I also did a new request this morning and the export came immediately.
Unfortunately it doesn’t include any recent conversations - in my case, none from the previous 8 days.
Originally, I thought maybe it was a conversation at around that cut off point that caused the issue, so I have deleted conversations before and after it (have used a Chrome extension to export later ones, but it’s not as seamless).
So, I’m not sure of the exact date, I believe it was a few days before o1-preview/mini was released, so I don’t know if it’s connected to that.
When I delete older chats, my export shrinks and they’re not in there, so it’s not the same file its sending. And never any newer conversations.
I deleted a bunch of chats, the file size shrank, but it was still spotty, and none of my recent ones were included
I also noticed that the longish chats I mentioned were exported, so maybe it’s been prioritising on those idk
yes for me too, I’m sure there’s a lot going on rn, but that made me think?
I’m located in the EU, and maybe the whole data privacy stuff still needs to be worked out, and exports are part of that?
anyway, the user script I tried to link is doing a great job, just sifting through the source was kind of a hike, but I think that’s mostly bc of the involved UI stuff they do, I’ll add a screenshot
Interesting - I’ve never noticed prioritising of chats before… it’s always been all or nothing.
I’m not in the EU, but have also disabled sharing training data (partly for the same reason as you, I’ve tested a lot of bollocks that would probably make the model worse!).
I’ve not used much of o-preview, but I did do one prompt to check what people were saying about the inner workings (it was something as simple as “Show me your inner workings” or something) which did set off a content warning! But I didn’t get a follow up email, and I’ve had plenty of content warnings (although not for the kind of stuff that WILL get you banned).
I think it must just be a random but at present. I did have an issue a while back where it seemed I was the only one affected and I eventually resolved it because I had 1000s of conversations, removing enough made it work again.
