Enjoy having a plus or pro subscription, and then paying more by pre-purchasing expiring credits… in ChatGPT.

Need math? “Cloud task” → $1.00

1000 credits /25 credits average = 40 uses for your $40. Completly different than the purchase page says to entice you to pay.

Sora 2 prepurchased credits

The help page is dodgy about the final credit price, or if Sora has a different minimum purchase amount and rate to side-step this $40, but there isn’t a purchase screen in Sora-2 until you are out of uses. OpenAI are disassociating the non-value of the credits from dollars. Looking like 1 credit = $0.04 at this purchase size. Again expiring in a year - in ChatGPT.

From comparing the pricing of API Sora-2-pro, consider that a 12 second maximum size pro generation there is $6. This table makes no sense, though - it shows any count of “video gens” as being 10 credits.

However, in Sora-2 on the web, you are paying for bouncing Tiktok-like watermarks. And now pay for “cameos” of likenesses, also soon coming.
