Chatgpt chat bar is not working in the latest update!

In the latest version of chatgpt application for mac os, i’m not able to open the chat bar with the shortcut. also in previous versions, whenever i opened chatgpt app, it shows in menu bar at the top but in the latest update, it’s not there.

i’ve just downgraded to version 1.2024.310 to fix the issue.

Had the same issue in 1.2025.084
Fix that worked for me: in ChatGPT app settings change the shortcut to something else - worked immdiately. Then change it back to the default - still works.

may i know what shortcuts have you used? i’ve tried it, but it did not worked for me.

also can you let me know if you can see the chatGPT icon at the menu bar while your app is running?

I first changed to ⌥ + Z and then back ⌥ + spacebar - that worked. Before that it didn’t work. I restarted a few times as well.

I can see the the icon in top menu bar as well, in ChatGPT settings I have When App is Running for the setting called Show in Menu Bar. For what it is worth, I always manually start ChatGPT when booting the computer, I don’t have it automatically loading.

Oh, and I just updated to MacOS Sequioa 15.4.

i think it’s maybe because of the version conflicts. i’m using macOS Sonoma currently.

for now, downloading the previous version of chatGPT worked for me!
