I’ve run into an issue where the search icon for chat history has disappeared on the web and desktop versions. As a longtime ChatGPT Plus user, this feature was always available to me, but it vanished shortly after I upgraded to ChatGPT Pro a few days ago.
I’ve tried multiple suggestions shared by others—using Ctrl + K, switching browsers (including iOS Chrome)—but nothing has worked. To confirm it’s account-specific, I logged into my girlfriend’s Plus account on the same devices, and her search icon appears as expected. This leads me to suspect the issue is linked to the Pro upgrade.
Does anyone know how to reach the official support team? Paying $200 only to lose such an important feature feels unacceptable. If anyone else has encountered this or found a solution, I’d greatly appreciate your advice!
I am also missing the search function in the interface of the website. I have not tried the app. I thought it might be helpful to add that ChatGPT itself is not able to search or reference prior conversations as well. I am a Plus user.
The same happening here too! I really need the search chat history buttom! And I hope they can add tag/ bookmark/ folder features in the future update ASAP.
This is an account issue, plus user here. I use Linux (Debian 12) and tried using various (6 different) HTML/js engines before trying on a Mac. Then even tried it on a buddy’s machine (another plus user) in a private window, and had his account and my account side by side. His had the search icon, mine didn’t. This is a definite issue between the accounts and the application code.
Same here I’m missing the search button and no solutions suggested have brought it back yet. I’m also a plus user and was able to use it just a few days ago.
I’m getting really sour on OpenAI’s complete stonewalling on issues like this. I have a support thread since November 17 without any response from OpenAI.
To anyone from OpenAI, please provide a status update. We users would be more understanding if you could just acknowledge the issue.
Same here, plus user. The icon has dissapeared from both web and the Windows app. An annoying bug, I use the search option very often. The icon has been missing for several days, and I haven’t seen any feedback yet. Please fix this ASAP.
