Switch Network Connection (Wi-Fi / Data connection)
Or, uninstall the app and re-download it. Hopefully that will solve the problem.
If the problem persists, please provide us with the following information:
Email address associated with your ChatGPT account
Your iPhone model (i.e. iPhone 14)
Your device OS (i.e. iOS 16.1)
Your ChatGPT apps current version (i.e. 1.2024.227)
Any device configurations you have enabled (i.e. VPN, Adguard, DNS)

My longest conversation doesn’t appear at all in the iOS app and it is appearing and disappearing sporadically on mobile web (Safari). When it shows on mobile web and I click it, eventually it shows an error that says
A problem repeatedly occurred on “/c/”.
I’m experiencing the same issue with disappearing chat history on my subscribed version of ChatGPT. I’ve been reaching out to support, and while they do respond within 12 hours to a day, the responses haven’t provided a solution yet, and the cooperation hasn’t been very effective. I’d appreciate some clarity or a more serious approach toward resolving this issue as it’s impacting my user experience.
I have specific chat from Settings → Archived chat that can’t be deleted or unarchived. When I try to it gives following error, anyone knows the solution?
thank you – this worked and will have to do for now. gpt is still a little confused, much like waking up from anesthesia, and I know I’ll be doing more work to remind it what we were doing but at it least it has the reference in the conversation to work from. your helpful suggestion and instructions are very appreciated.
just adding, in case anyone runs into this problem, I first had to extract the zip files myself and then upload all of them along with the prompt (for whatever reason it couldn’t read the files when I uploaded as zip), and then still had to have it try to extract like 6 times before it got the whole thing instead of truncating it. persistence will be your friend on this one I guess.
I’m in the ame boat - has it reappeared for anyone yet? I left my research on there assuming it would be safe - I need to find a way to pull all that info back.
While I was exchanging a lot of data and sharing information for the PHD presentation, all of a sudden, about 8 hours of data disappeared from the screen. With the confidence of being a ChatGPT Plus user, while making inquiries in the same chat window where the conversations were constantly following each other, I went back 8 hours and many of my plans were disrupted.
It is impossible for me to accept such a big mistake, should I open a Word document or a Text document after each query and save it? Can you tell me how I can accept such a situation?
I ask ChatGPT to fix it, unfortunately I get the answer that I cannot do it.
What should I do, should I delete the entire plan in my mind from 8 hours ago and rebuild it? All the data, tables and conversations disappeared step by step during the presentation preparation.
I have the same issue!! also working on PhD, ALL my history is gone. also, A bunch of unrecoignuized chats in Chienese apperared. Did you get any of yours back?
Glad to hear I’m not the only one with this issue. I was using chatGPT in order to get help with a story I’m writing, making sure some scenes comes off as more realistic but all of a sudden, it stopped working.
I still have similar issue. One of my chats is probably like 3 weeks old and receently when I write something and then either reopen it or just move to differnet chat and then back, the new messages disappear
