I saw the following verbiage when trying to decipher the prompt limits on ChatGPT Teams Platform.
“According to OpenAI’s documentation, the message rate limit for ChatGPT Team users is set at “approximately twice that of ChatGPT Plus”. This indicates the limit is dynamic rather than static. Currently, each user under the ChatGPT Team plan is allowed up to 100 messages every three hours.”
My question (two part): Is that still accurate? Does that reset every three hours and I have a fresh set of prompts? Or do I have to wait for the following day? Please provide clear, concise details on what exactly ChatGPT Team prompt limits are, so I can share with my team.
As of May 13, 2024, each user in a ChatGPT Team workspace has a message cap approximately twice that of ChatGPT Plus. Specifically, Team users can send up to 80 messages every 3 hours on GPT-4. These limits reset every three hours, providing a fresh set of messages for each period. Unused messages do not accumulate; if you wait 6 hours, you will not have 160 messages available for the next 3 hours on GPT-4. Each member maintains an independent message cap.
For the OpenAI o1 models introduced in September 2024, ChatGPT Plus and Team users have the following limits:
• o1-preview: 50 messages per week.
• o1-mini: 50 messages per day.
These limits are subject to change as OpenAI adjusts based on demand and system performance.
These caps are dynamic and may be updated over time.
