Chat GPT is not able to read any type of documents

I’ve been using ChatGPT since it became available, and I’ve never had any issues. Suddenly, it’s no longer able to read files from my computer or phone, either on my account (ChatGPT Plus subscription) or on other accounts.

In fact, when I open a new chat, ChatGPT itself tells me “it can’t open files and maybe I could do it on older versions.” I’ve tried logging out and back in, switching countries with a VPN, resetting my IP address, clearing my browser’s browsing data, changing browsers, and nothing has worked.

Has anyone encountered this issue before, and do you have any solutions? It’s a bit frustrating to pay $25 a month for ChatGPT when it can’t even process a single file.

Send it a pic and it will work. Openai is quite disappointing when it comes to availability.

I’m having the same issue. unable to read PDFs, Word, Excel. great timing…

I know why now. I just used my account on the computer on a friend, and since we use VPN (we are currently in China), I think they thought I was sharing my premium account to others.
Just go in the settings, disconnect yourself from every devices and wait 24 hours without trying to use ChatGPT and it should work again :ok_hand:
