Bug Report – Mac ChatGPT App: Uncommitted

I have encountered a serious bug in the Mac version of the ChatGPT app (latest version) that significantly affects the typing experience. I hope this issue can be addressed as soon as possible.

Issue Description:

When using Chinese or Japanese input methods (such as macOS built-in Pinyin, Cangjie, or Romaji input), uncommitted text suddenly disappears before pressing Enter. This makes it difficult to type full sentences smoothly. For example:

• While typing, the text vanishes before pressing Enter to confirm it.

• This issue is especially noticeable when entering long sentences. Users have to frequently press Enter to prevent text from disappearing, which disrupts the normal typing flow.

Affected Users:

:white_check_mark: All macOS users who rely on phonetic-based input methods (such as Chinese, Japanese, and Korean).

:white_check_mark: All Mac users (both Intel and Apple Silicon models).

:white_check_mark: Severely impacts the typing experience by forcing users to constantly confirm text, making long-form input frustrating.

Device & Environment Information:

Device: MacBook Pro / MacBook Air (Multiple users have reported the same issue)

macOS Version: Latest macOS (Ventura / Sonoma, both affected)

ChatGPT App Version: Latest Mac app version

Input Methods Affected:

• Chinese (Pinyin / Cangjie)

• Japanese (Romaji-based IME)

Expected Fix & Request:

We hope the development team can prioritize fixing this bug, as it is a critical issue affecting a large number of users and significantly impacts usability.

Thank you for your hard work, and we appreciate any updates on this matter!
