As part of Chat API session, the assistant replied that OpenAI’s APIs “automatically anonymized API prompts to remove or obscure personal information” - specifically “OpenAI’s API provides a text cleaning functionality that enables removal of personally identifiable information from text data”. Is this factually correct and can you provide me with additional Open AI policy details so I am able to demonstrate the privacy protections associated with an application I am developing.
You cannot rely on ChatGPT for any technical fact.
If you want to know about OpenAI privacy polices, you must go to their official web site, not to an auto-completing, hallucinating chatbot.
It is easy to find this policy, it’s the first google hit searching for the OpenAI privacy policy:
If you need more information, the only official channel to contact OpenAI on privacy matters is support@openai.com
.
Hope this helps.

Hey Michael,
I would be interested in building such a service for you, just a simple wrapper around OpenAI to do that!
