How can i ask openai to NOT store my API informations?

Hello there!

I recently started using OpenAI’s GPT-4 API for a few projects and I’m quite impressed with the model’s capabilities. However, I have specific concerns related to privacy and data handling. I would like to know if there is a way to ask OpenAI not to store the information I send through the API.

Specifically, I’m interested in:

Privacy Choices: Is there a setting in the API or in my OpenAI account that allows me to indicate that I do not want my data stored or used for future model training?

Request Process: If there is no direct option in the settings, is there a formal process by which I can request that my data not be stored? Would this involve contacting customer support, filling out a form, or sending an email request?

Hello and welcome to the community!

Yes there is an option to specifically handle your data. But first of all anything send to the API will not be used by OpenAI to train future models. The data will be retained for 30 days in case of legal issues and then it will be deleted.

If you need additional handling you can request this here:

That link to the DPA asks to enter the Counterparty Signer Name and is a mandatory field. How am I supposed to know this? Why do I need the signature of the people I’m submitting this to?
