I would like to suggest a small but meaningful user experience improvement for ChatGPT. An optional Auto mode that automatically switches between Chat and Work depending on the complexity of each request.
When working on a larger task in Work, users naturally ask simple questions along the way. It is easy to forget to manually switch back to Chat, which can unnecessarily consume limited Work usage and interrupt the workflow.
Auto mode could keep the same conversation and context while automatically selecting the appropriate mode.
A simple visual indicator could make this transparent:
Chat – simple request, no Work usage
Work – complex task requiring Work
Users should always be able to override the automatic choice manually.
The goal is simple: users should be able to focus on their work instead of having to manage which processing mode ChatGPT should use.
