Assistance Needed: Subscription Downgraded to Free Plan

Hi ChatGPT Community / Support Team,

A month or two ago, I signed up for a 1-year ChatGPT subscription. Until yesterday, my billing information correctly showed my active 1-year plan. However, today I noticed that my account has suddenly been switched to the free plan without any prior notice.

I no longer have the invoice, but I have evidence that I actively used the subscription, including multiple chats and uploads (around 6–20 images) during the subscription period.

Could someone please help me understand why this happened and guide me on how to restore my subscription? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

OpenAI does not have a 1 year subscription plan for pro or plus ChatGPT. Might you be thinking of another AI service? Or perhaps a Teams or enterprise plan?

I want to clarify that I was using the Veteran 1-year access, not any of the standard ChatGPT subscription plans (such as Plus or Pro).

My account previously showed this Veteran access as active, but it now appears to have changed or disappeared, and I’m trying to understand why.

Could someone please help me verify what happened and how I can restore the correct Veteran access on my account?

I will raise this with the team. It would be worth you starting the ball rolling by emailing support@openai.com with details of your issue as we are unable to deal directly with account issues form the developer forum.

I wanted to bring to your attention that, based on my personal experience, emails sent to this address do not seem to receive any response from the team. {many posts in community says teh same}

I would appreciate your guidance on how to proceed or if there is an alternative contact for assistance.

support@openai.com is the correct place to get account issues addressed, I have raised this issue with the team, however, this is a support forum for the API and related support services and not ChatGPT account issues directly.

Hopefully we can get something resolved for you.

The Veterans offer is limited to eligible U.S. military veterans who successfully complete the verification process through our partner. As part of a recent review, we identified accounts where the promotion may have been applied outside of the program’s eligibility requirements. In those cases, the associated subscription was automatically cancelled.

If you believe you’re eligible, you can reapply once the promotion is available again.

It’s temporarily paused while we make updates to the program"

Sorry it’s not better news, but it seems that offer is no longer valid.
