Hi, Im kinda new to this but need some help. I keep using MacGPT for research and document creation using an iterative process and getting tidy results that I like.
I ask for the output to be a structured document that I can download to word.docx … There appears to be a link provided to download, but nothing happens, theres nothing under the link …
What am I doing wrong, or is a limitation with MacGPT ?
Here’s the help text that I used MacGPT to write for me !
Subject: Assistance Needed: Unable to Download Generated Document via MacGPT on macOS Sequoia 15.3.1
Dear MacGPT Support Team,
I am seeking assistance with an issue I’ve encountered while using MacGPT. After creating and refining a list of self-interview questions through GPT, I attempted to download the generated .docx
file to my iMac’s desktop. However, the download does not complete successfully, and the file is not saved in the designated location. Below are the details of my setup and the issue:
System Information:
- Device: iMac with M1 processor
- Operating System: macOS Sequoia 15.3.1
- MacGPT Version: 3.8 (82)
- Microsoft Word Version: 16.94
Issue Description: After interacting with GPT to generate a list of self-interview questions, I requested a downloadable link for the .docx
file. Upon clicking the provided link, the download does not initiate, and the file is not saved to my desktop or any other location on my iMac.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Use MacGPT to generate content and request it to be saved as a
.docx
file. - Receive a downloadable link for the generated document.
- Click the link to initiate the download.
- Observe that the download does not occur, and the file is not saved.
Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
- Verified that the Downloads folder and Desktop are accessible and have sufficient space.
- Attempted alternative download methods, including right-clicking the download link and selecting “Save Link As…”.
- Tried downloading the file using different web browsers.
Request for Assistance: I would appreciate guidance on resolving this issue. Specifically:
- Are there known compatibility issues between MacGPT version 3.8 (82) and macOS Sequoia 15.3.1 that could affect file downloads?
- Are there specific settings within MacGPT or macOS that need to be adjusted to facilitate successful file downloads?
- Is there an alternative method to download or export generated content from MacGPT to a Word document on my desktop?
Thank you for your assistance in resolving this matter.
Best regards,
