API Created Assistants Not in Dashboard or Playground?

To query assistant APIs, I’ve learned I have to create them via API. When I create them in playground or dashboard, I get errors accessing them. So I’ve taken to always creating them via API. Unfortunately, then they don’t seem to display in my dashboard or playground.

That seems crazy to me, but I’ve triple-checked the api_key used and it’s all under the same account. Is there a discussion on this topic or am I just a fool and missing something obvious?

i just tested and API created assistants appear in the playground as expected.

you just need to make sure that you are viewing the playground under the same project where your api key is generated and which you used to create the assistant.

The API can be under same Account but you need to make sure if its under the same project for which the API key was generated. @supershaneski is correct.

Wow. Yeah, I could have sworn I double and triple-checked all projects. Yet sure enough, there it was, under “Default” Project. The best I can figure, my mind saw this and read it as a label for the project beneath it, in the UI. Or, as I named the assistant the same as the other project, my mind kept looking at THAT project instead. It should have been obvious, and yet…

In case anyone else has the same obvious mistake, attached is a screen grab. Most likely, anyone having a hard time finding their assistant will also have it under Default project. See the attached image for a pointer. Make sure you actually check the Default project too.

Thanks again, @supershaneski & @MrFriday .
