After many months of using the “Pay as you go” billing method as a tier 5 organization, we received the following email on Tuesday:
Hi ****,
Your API usage this month has reached your account’s usage limit of Unknown.
API requests will be rejected until either (a) you increase your usage limit or (b) your monthly usage resets at the beginning of the next calendar month.
And since then we cannot make use of the API (429 error). This makes no sense at all since we’ve only consumed approximately $120, despite having a $200k limit. In fact, we’ve consistently spent around $1,000 for several months without any issues. Additionally, we’ve always paid all our invoices on time.
We’ve contacted support a couple of times since Tuesday, but we haven’t received a response yet. Has anyone experienced something similar? Any ideas on how to resolve this?
If never set, put in a value greater than your expected monthly usage. It could have an undisplayed “ghost value” from before the tier system of $120 behind the scenes.
Also make note of the US comma system automatically converted to when putting in values:
Then, in the upper-left selection of project, “manage projects” will take you to a screen to see those hard limits that you have set.
If there is nothing affecting your account and organization, and new new project and modifying any possible UI fields you can change doesn’t fix, it can also just be a screwed up system, some sparse database with index corruption causing the limiter account field retrieval to fail - or whatever else the complex web of third parties that OpenAI employs.
