I would go one step further: GDPR Article 16 states that as an European user I MUST be allowed to correct and modify my personal information at any point.

I’d link to it but I am not allowed to; a simple search in Google shows this ruling easily though, as Right of rectification.

So as long as you operate with European data, I should be allowed to change my phone number, which is no longer in my possession.
