Is anyone else experiencing an issue with GPT-5 not being able to activate Agent Mode? I was excited to try the new version, but I noticed it can’t reference chats in the same way GPT-4 could with its recent upgrades. I had a task that I thought Agent Mode could handle, but when I tried to activate it in both a new chat and an older one, I received the error message: “model cannot be found.”
I’m assuming Agent Mode is currently limited to GPT-4. Does anyone know for sure? Either way, I wish GPT-4 hadn’t been removed before confirming whether all GPT-5 features would work as intended.

Yes, I have exactly the same problem and I tried to do it in different browsers, but nothing helped. Let’s hope OpenAI will see this soon and fix it, because my work also stopped because of this error
seeing the same issue here too. tried on iphone and chrome desktop
seeing this issue as well. recently upped to the pro tier for this next few weeks and now unable to use it.. wasting my pro payment..

Looks like it’s working again. Was able to run two new iteration changes to a project without issue.
I dare say it’s faster by about 1/3rd or 1/2 the previously needed time for suggested task changes.

I am still having issues as GPT-5 is not able to access a lot of sites like Upwork, Fiverr, Freelancer dot com as I used it to analyze and find relevant keywords, that I need to focus on and optimize my gig and services but now it is unable to even visit Upwork. It mentioned that it is unable to use Chrome or DuckDuckGo and is using Bing. So, I belive the issue is that it is unable to access Chrome due to an internal server error.

I’m getting the error this morning:
I’m unable to continue editing the remaining photos at the moment because the interactive computer tool needed to access the dashboard is disabled
I can’t even see a selection for Agent in GPT-5. When I try to go to GPT 4 it just jumps to 5.

You should be able to select "Agent mode" from there, if all is working properly!
