The problem is as some people have stated before, they say you have 40 messages per 3 hours. Still, I counted every message I used from GPT-4, GPTs and GPT builder in the last 4-5 hours and it adds up to exactly 19 and I got messaged capped (I did not get error messages so even if they count or not is irrelevant for this). So, or there is an error with the message cap thing or maybe people in the E.U have a smaller message cap?

I have hardly used it today, only 7 messages and I was presented with the usage cap message. What is the usage cap for ChatGPT Plus subscriber?
Yeah, same thing here. Since they canāt reduce the cap anymore from 50 to 40 to 25 to ?, they manipulate the message counter when your input uses more ressources.
There is nothing open and transparent with openai.
I think that soon users will organize themselves so that their voice is heard.

40/3 hours is bearable if they let you know how much you are using, but somehow they removed the counter to let you gracefully gauge and throttle by yourself
instead, you only know the cooldown time when you already hit the wall
the fact that they no longer allow you to know how many messages you burned through the 40 limits suggests to me they donāt really care about anything you outlined here, they just want you to hit the limit and leave the service you paid, and hopefully forgot to come back when your limit is reset.
This way, they can maximize unused and wasted quota for their paying customers.

It was never advertised as a limited service either, this is the point. And I extract the value I see fit, not based on your or anyone elseās criteria.
If 20 US$ per month, paid by I donāt know how may paying users, are not enough to improve Open AI capacity, maybe itās not us who donāt have a good use caseā¦

What do you mean with $20 you are paying for unlimited access to 3.5? The free version here already says unlimited messages. If Iām misunderstanding what Unlimited messages means here, itās a pretty understandable misunderstanding. They should put directly on the options here what the limits are. There is nothing here that would lead me to believe Iād be cut off from gpt 4 at all, let alone with such a limit as 40 messages per 3 hours. Itās not unreasonable to think this should be spelled out in the price structure.

I signed up to ChatGPT 4 today with the goal of educating myself in prompt engineering, GPT creation, etc.
After half an hour, i reached the cap.
How can one go about learning ChatGPT when itās not available to play with?
You can still continue learning with GPT 3.5 without a cap 
Well, since there isnāt any clear information provided about the message limit for GPT-4 on that site, itās understandable that people would have complaints or concerns.
Personally, I think they should be more explicit with the information.
I agree on the information transparency point. it also seems to have recently changed further and there is even less information about caps in key pricing pages for ChatGPT. Not great!
But: Iām surprised that thereās so much fuss about the 40 message constraint. Thatās a lot of input/output and if you are engaging in detail with all of the output that is produced then it does take quite a while to reach that limit. I donāt use ChatGPT that frequently but when I do itās typically for a very focused session and then I am often surprised how long it actually takes to reach the usage cap. By the time that happens I often have already saved so much time and money relative to what it would take me to complete the same tasks manually or hire someone to do it for me, that Iāve gotten back my USD 20 many times over.

Fiz a aquisiĆ§Ć£o hoje dia 27/03/2024 e nem adicionei todos os documentos necessĆ”rios para criar um assistente e meu acesso foi bloqueado porque eu tinha atingido o limite de uso. Por se tratar de uma ferramenta paga e conhecida internacionalmente eu esperava um serviƧo de excelĆŖncia! Eu gostaria de saber como criar um gpt personalizado dentro do limite de uso.
While I agree, $20 / mo is very inexpensive for the value (even with all the memory lapses and failures to follow instructions)ā¦ OpenAI is not providing what is advertised when they limit access.
You do get unlimited messages thoughājust not unlimited GPT-4.

Iām receiving the āYouāve reached the current usage cap for GPT-4. You can continue with the default model now, or try again later.ā error message even when Iām set to use ChatGPT 3.5 and when I click the āUse default modelā button next to the error, it just retries the same request and shows the same error message. I have signed out and back in with the same results and tried clearing my cache. Then tried on my mobile device app and got the error of āWe are currently experiencing high traffic. Please try again laterā.
So, basically i am using chat gpt 3.5 but when i interact with the ai it says this
āYouāve reached the current usage cap for GPT-4. You can continue with the default model now, or try again laterā
I clicked on defeault mode but still gives same message.
I tries to interact with chat gpt in a new browser. tried logging in and out.
I am new to using chat-gpt and this community, so sorry if Its just a silly mistake by me.
