Same here, I’m a 3.5 user - not even on a paid plan - and yet I’m being told i can’t use 4, even though I’m literally only using 3.5.
I suspect that OpenAI has used one of their “shutoff” modes to suspend model use while they investigate major service errors that are still under investigation.
This has happened before, with them even turning on a “you are banned” message to try to restore services.

Fair, i just checked the link you sent and yea i can agree with your point, even still - do i need to be told im now a plus user when im not.
It is my believe that open AI takes revenges, I was a paid user and I decline to go on and then they make several interruptions like this very often…

using gpt4 for about 6 months, suddenly today it says ive reached my message limit. WTF! never seen this before and I thought the point of paying 20/month was that it was unlimited?
Same for me, I bought GPT+ 15 minutes ago, I ask LITTERALY 3 QUESTIONS (+1 that crashed) and I get this :

Today is 18Feb2024. I still have this issue. What is going on? Is there any explanation or solutions for this? It’s really annoying.
I found a good solution by a guy on a blog techdim*com/youve-reached-the-current-usage-cap-for-gpt-4/
I tried the same but I don’t know why the AI doesn’t show shaved men!!! And I got the limit so quickly

4 months later, and the cap is still here… boooo… booo openai… boooo
i use gpt 4 to generate basic text 500 words long articles. i am really confused about the floating cap! it is not even 50 request. i started fresh. I did 35 requests. No remarks, no editing - just naked requests. Then 36th request gad been declined. Where can I find what is the cap rate limits?
Is there any better alternative to replace this chatgpt?
I find it to be unreal that there is a usage cap and that it hits as fast as it does for a paid for service that is abundantly flawed. I spend a lot of time just trying to get the GPT to follow the rules we establish, and that consumes a lot of back and forth. So I am paying for the service, and consuming data that is capped due to the engines inability to follow instructions. This is a garbage user experience.

i purchased gpt-4 today because 3.5 wasted hundreds of requests by ignoring simply my request at all.
even tricks like “repeat my request word by word and dont answer until i ask you to do so”
gave out some gaslighning answers and nothing else, just refusing everything, continuing with a past request…
at least hundeds of requests and repeatings…
usualy i can continue for hours without any cap
and than, gpt4? i havent made 25 request and i hit the cap…
infinite more expensive ( 23€/0 ) for about 0.001% performace?

the biggest problem is the gaslightening everytime gpt dont understand something.
while “ask for clarification is part of my custommer ruleset” gpt never consider
the possibility that its content may be not helpful or wrong.
its rather implies you are the problem and proceed to give false responses,
or, if ask about a specfic part of the answer for clarification simply alters everything…
requests are misread, it gets worser and worser ( and depends on the time i guess ) since month.
you need hours to comunicate a common workframe, but informations and data in and than the
whole system collapses and you are talking with a narcistic person who tries to do your

I was able to use it more frequently last month without any interruptions compared to now. If a subscriber has a limit, what’s the point of spending $20/month?
