  1. Pierre-Auguste Renoir:
    Hands down my favorite for impressionistic portraits. Incredibly gifted for painting in realistic details where they’re needed, while using more abstract brush strokes for background elements. Examples from my personal renders include:


  2. Jacques-Louis David:
    Known for “Napoleon Crossing the Alps” (circa 1801) among others, a great painter in my opinion who expanded upon the realism of neoclassical art from the Renaissance. I particular enjoy referencing him for more unexpected portraits. Examples from my personal renders include:
