I asked ChatGPT (via API) to create a prompt for Dall-E within a journaling application I’m developing where I tell it stories from my childhood. It did a good job of capturing the story I had described:

When I saw this kind of thing posted about Gemini I didn’t believe it at first; seemed too blatant to be real. But here it is from OpenAI. TO be fair, the original prompt didn’t specify the people should be white, or even what country it is in. But this is too much!
Interestingly I don’t think Dall-E did a good job showing all that diversity in the image it created:
