Why are images generated via the OpenAI API lower quality compared to those generated in ChatGPT UI?

I’m using the OpenAI API to generate images, but I’ve noticed that the image quality is significantly lower compared to the images generated within the ChatGPT user interface.

Here are the details:

  • I’m using the same prompts in both the API and ChatGPT UI.
  • I’m using the same model (e.g., dall-e-3).
  • The quality difference is noticeable in terms of resolution, detail, and artistic style.

I’ve tried adjusting various parameters (size, aspect ratio, etc.) in the API, but I still can’t match the quality seen in ChatGPT.

Can anyone help explain:

  1. Is there a difference in how images are generated between the API and the ChatGPT UI?
  2. Are there any specific parameters or settings in the API I might be missing that would improve the quality?
  3. Does the API use different processing enhancements compared to the ChatGPT interface?
