I’ve been waiting for so long! Does anyone know when the OpenAI ChatGPT 4o Windows desktop application will be released? The official word is that it will come out later this year, but no specific date has been given yet. Currently, only the macOS version is available. I really hope the Windows version is released soon. I’m very excited to use this desktop application on Windows. While the web version is good, having a dedicated desktop app would be so much more convenient! Are there others who are also waiting eagerly for this?

Does anyone know why the favoritism for Apple? or iPad?
It is frustrating, but then again, so is most of OpenAI’s trajectory towards greater control, less transparency, etc. It is so disappointing to see all the companies I respect slowly give up on their ideals in favor of power/money (and simultaneously convince themselves they aren’t through convoluted reasoning they aren’t).
Despite statements like “don’t be evil” or even including pivotal words like “open” in the name, it seems there is always some reinterpretation that comes later.
sigh, but I digress… I know their job is hard, but I long for the impossible standard of people and companies being so good at what they do that even if they published every single piece of knowledge generated they would still continue to be the best and win because they are just that much better than all those that hide and protect thinking, reasons, etc.
