As the title states, new voice chat capabilities, when is this possible with the Openai API?

You can already use any one of hundreds of voice API’s for text to speech and you can already use Whisper for Speech to text, what you ask for is already available.
Huh? So the announcement Open AI made TODAY is already available for the API? Im referring to the announcement made earlier today, but this was already answered in another thread
Do you mean for ChatGPT? If so, then sure, it has all of the API’s already combined on the backend/app. But the API? You can build anything with the API, you can tag on vision models to get multimodal, TTS API’s for speech, everything.
From their announcement page ChatGPT can now see, hear, and speak at the very bottom.
Plus and Enterprise users will get to experience voice and images in the next two weeks. We’re excited to roll out these capabilities to other groups of users, including developers, soon after.
So hopefully in 3-4 weeks-ish?
I look forward to developer access. wonder how fast it can do a single image or if it can handle more than one to build a real vision system. voice would be icing on that cake for a one stop shop for billing. I pay for other api’s that are too costly imo. if open ai keeps things low on token costs they could probably steal the show. hope they offer api for code interpret, fantastic plugin.
