The new voice that GPT-4o uses is so good.
OpenAI’s current text-to-speech API is meh.
Will they upgrade their TTS API to include this new amazing voice?
Thoughts?
- GPT-4o in the API does not yet support audio. We hope to bring this modality to a set of trusted testers in the coming weeks.

I don’t understand. , Intelligence doesn’t look superior to GPT4. The only thing new is the voice but it’s also what is not available. If it was just another company making some advertising to promote a product, I would call it a scam. Don’t take me wrong, it’s great to have an intelligent fast model for lower price than GPT4, but why even talk about some amazing things under the name “GPT4-o” if you are not going to release it. Use another name, give an idea of a release date, and everyone would be happy.
I was wrong, the demo is indeed released, and I could test it. The system indeed has greater intelligence, though not focused on logic. Well done! Hopefully given some safeguard, it can be used in the future for everyone’s applications, it would be very useful for one of my projects.
Its been close to four months now…I really hope we get something soon!

I’m wondering if the voice-cloning the user problem is still a problem. One thing I like about OpenAI is they tend to err on the side of caution. I think we all regret letting “social media” run amuck in society at large without thinking about long-term consequences…
I’m betting something big is released by Dev Day, but I do not know for sure…
