I use the iOS and Mac apps for dictation and content editing frequently. I typically start a chat with instructions like “In this chat, your job is to act as a transcriptionist, receiving my voice dictation, formatting it, and performing minor edits. You are not to summarize. You are not to change my words or tone. The only changes you should make are formatting into paragraphs as applicable to apply appropriate punctuation and correct minor grammatical errors.”
Up until yesterday this worked great. But now it is frequently adding on to my microphone inputs, things like “Thank you”, “Thank you for watching!”, and “For more information, visit chatgpt[ . ]com”. To be clear, this is happening during the Whisper TTS part, before I hit send.
It is also insisting on constantly web searching rather than following the above instructions. The new web icon is not clicked so it’s making that choice on its own.
Anyone else?
