There’ve been numerous, now closed, requests to customize the Web UI send button, i.e. setting key combinations other than “enter” to send prompts.
We know the desktop app allows for this customization, and it’s a welcomed change.
But this customization is still unavailable on the Web UI, and it introduces two issues:
- The original issue is not resolved, though closed. Routing users away from one UI that’s not deprecated should not be called a resolution.
- Inconsistencies are introduced. Some users have two or more sessions active, with one of them being the desktop app/UI. But remembering the “correct” way to send messages in different sessions laces extra burden on users.
So please ask the product team to re-review this feature request, and simply don’t do the Steve Jobs infamous “Just don’t hold it that way”.
