I have identified a reproducible issue in the Custom GPT Builder:
Initial situation:
For a given Custom GPT, web browsing access initially functions as expected.
Observation:
As soon as I add an app or connector for testing purposes (for example, Outlook Email) and then remove it again, web access remains disabled.
The issue is reproducible and occurs:
- in the preview
- after refreshing or reloading
- even after the GPT has already been created
- across multiple different Custom GPTs
Important:
Before the GPT is finally created, web access still appears to be influenced by adding or removing an app. However, once the GPT has been created, the disabled state persists and is no longer reset when the app is removed.
Hypothesis:
This appears to be a persistent capability or tool-state bug. It is possible that the browsing capability is not being properly reinitialized or restored after connector changes.
Steps to reproduce:
- Use a new Custom GPT with web browsing enabled
- Test the web access functionality
- Add an app or connector
- Remove the app or connector again
- Test web access once more
- Create or save the GPT and reload the preview
Expected behavior:
After removing the connector, the original web access should be available again.
Actual behavior:
Web access remains disabled.
