Sky’s voice suddenly changed to sound like “Juniper”. Voice settings are on Sky. Deleting and reinstalling did not correct

Same problem for me. I wonder if it’s a problem with the app itself?

Here is a speculative breakdown why Sky’s voice might have been problematic.
Can’t believe that’s a thing though, considering how the voices were selected and recorded.

Not sure why you can’t see the thread behind the tweet but there is a claim that the voice is so close to Scarlet Johannson in the movie’Her’ that they had to take it down (or whatever).
I figured people would ask anyways.
Just realized you have to be logged in to see the thread. Thanks. (and I don’t understand how people think Sky sounds like Scarlett Johansson. Those people most be tone deaf, i.e. insensitive to differences in musical pitch and nothing else .)

It’s because of her voice sounding too much like Scarlett Johansson. The new voice is so irritating. I hope there’s an option to change the voice soon

Same. But I don’t think sky was changed. I think it’s an error where now juniper is playing in lieu of sky. He might be related to all of the same voice and read aloud problems that are happening on the web side.

This is absurd. The other voices simply don’t sound smart enough to give an intelligent answer, completely undermining the entire ChatGPT experience and brand.
This has nothing to do with “Her” and until Altman made a throw-away comment, nobody bothered to raise this issue.
If it wasn’t SJ in the first place, there’s nothing to change.
Reinstate Sky IMMEDIATELY. The voice feature is unusable.

I’m shocked they did this. I never associated the voice with SJ until this story broke. How can she legally own a particular voice sound? Unreal.

This may be related to Read Aloud not working on any web interface at all. They’re definitely doing things under the hood. For a second there, when I was choosing Voice options one of the options was “Human,” but that changed back to the previous before I could screenshot it.

Maybe this is too make the contrast between the GPT4 standard model and the new streaming voice model more stark?
