View and Switch Active ChatGPT Model in the Companion Window for Windows Desktop App

"The current implementation of the companion window works well when I don’t have the desktop app open for quick alt-tabbing. However, it lacks some essential information, forcing me to open the main window to check which model I’m using and to switch models. I feel that this undermines the convenience of prompting ChatGPT with fewer steps. My main concerns are that the companion window doesn’t display the current model and doesn’t allow model changes without accessing the main window.

For feature requests:

  • Text or a header showing what model I am currently using.
  • Shortcut for toggling between different models so I don’t need to open up the main window to change models.

dude they finally did it for windows app today

Awesome. I am glad they were able to implement it now because it was annoying using companion window without knowing what model I was using.

Yea but now the button to switch from companion to main window is gone so everytime you want to switch directly to main while staying in your current chat you have to manually reopen the main window :sob:
