User settings needs to expose a Version number (of some sort)?

As of March 2024, it seems there are different versions rolled out to different user sets (over time). Fine, that’s not quiet the issue or suggestion. The feature is to show a Version number - as many different community posts and experiences based on possibly users are with access to different interface experiences.

If ChatGPT settings could “manufacture” a live “Version code” in the settings, it would be used to report issues and/or discuss topics of operation in the community. Forum users would be reminded to show their Version code for the issue (eg. GrpC-12022024-W10GCWB or whatever makes sense for OpenAI).

Forum users would then be able to understand (see) that they’re using a totally different version to the person commenting or posting an issue, which could have considerations if they see they’re on the same general release - but not the same sub-group.

I just answered messages of others on similar issues I’m having (now) and then further searching shows this was happening for other Users 4 months earlier? (before I experienced, so we must be on different sub-releases).

Yes, this can be true even if a user enters the same prompt on a different day = different custom chatGPT

My suggestion was more based on my experience of poor functional ChatGPT responses (ie. GPT builder won’t complete a custom GPT set up) compared to past results, and key functions behaving differently… hence I could be on a different Version (release) to someone else, using the same interface.

Since posting the above, I noticed my website session login has change again, returned to what looks like the past with more previous used custom GPT’s showing on the left sidebar and the responses from the GPT builder (assistant) is better, but still not working to save a custom GPT (for me).

So, it’s a help to me if I knew that my version/release has a known issue and then I can not bother trying to resolve it or work out why. Or at least know what I am comparing issues to others.
