I also just bought more credits to reach tier 3 to be able to access o3-mini and o1. If there is some restrictions then why it is not mentioned in the model purchase table, really surprised!! Please try to fix this so that we can access it as soon as possible.
Same. Upgraded and paid but no access to o3-mini. Didn’t know so many people here are in the same boat. over a hundred of us.
I wish I saw this all before upgrading to tier 3, I mean… you figure the official documentation would be accurate, they should at least put a * next to the o3-mini and note its not available for everyone, I asked for a refund on the credit spend I just made and they said I can’t be refunded and wont give me a timeline of when I can expect o3-mini
A lot of people are in the same situation including me.
Another 7 days passed. A long tier-4 user still no access at all

Me too, this is very disappointing.
Hi all, if you visit help.openai.com and make use of the support system (icon in the bottom right corner) you can start a request for o3-mini access.
I’ve tried this approach.
They said “At this time, API access to o3 mini is available only to a subset of API users across Tiers 3 to 5. Unfortunately, this means that even within these tiers, not all users currently have access. However, we are actively working on expanding availability in the future.”
Please message back to say you have been told to request o3-mini access and that they should find that is now available. You will need to give them your Org-ID and a member of OpenAI staff will pick up those requests.

I upgraded to tier 3 on 10 February, and saw today that I finally have access to o3-mini. I never received an email to say I’d been granted access, so it could be that I was granted access a few days ago already. I probably last checked around the 17th so it was granted anywhere from 6 to 11 days after being eligible.
For those who eventually gained access, what steps did you take?
I’m currently at tier 3 and want to evaluate whether the model fits our use case, but I still don’t have access.

In my case I solved the issue by creating a new project, my default project for some reason won’t show any o3-model but the new project has o3-mini-2025-01-31
I am Tier 4 for 10 days and still no sign of o3-mini in the API. I need to test it urgently for a project. I also created a new project, but that didn’t work.

I got caught by this too - if you hadn’t read the month old blog post, the billing section of the account is very misleading and implies o3-mini access is just a matter of upgrading to the next tier, which was 3 in my case. I sent a support request which has been denied, and I responded…
