Upgraded To Pro And Get Hit With "Usage Limit" Error

I recently upgraded to the Pro tier and immediately got hit with the “You’ve hit your usage limit. Upgrade to Plus to continue using Codex” message as soon as I tried to submit a prompt. On ChatGPT website I can use my account just fine (realized I don’t see the Pro model there as well). What is the problem here?

have you tried logging out and back into the app?
i don’t know if that would help or not but i didn’t see that you might have tried…?

same here, logging out does not help

same issue here. Just upgraded from 5x to 20x and got “You’ve hit your usage limit. Add credits to continue, or try again at 11:07.” exactly after using 25% of usage limits(which I believe is 5x usage limit)

Tried logging out and quitting the app, didn’t help

any update from folks on this? I just upgraded today, and i’m wondering if this is just a one-off as the system takes time to register my pro account, or if it’ll continue to happen. TIA!

I logged out of all chatgpt platforms (codex and web) and logged back in and it seems to have fixed the issue. I previously had only logged out of codex.

Same issue here with codex in VScode (logged in via API). Just upgraded to Plus.
Loggin out and in again did not solve the issue.

same here plus to pro 60% 5h left and yet limit message codex didnt even finish task just locked out

That’s a good point too start with.

Also you may try to reinstall codex if the logout had not worked for you.

Am also hitting this issue. Upgraded from plus to pro while using codex. Got hit immediately with the usage limit. Logged in and out. After a day was able to ask 2 questions and then got hit with the usage limit again. Logging in and out everywhere doesn’t seem to do anything, will try deleting the app and reinstalling but otherwise I’m stuck
