I previously shared a small bookmarklet for navigating between user prompts in long ChatGPT conversations.
With the recent updates to the ChatGPT web interface, I’ve updated the script to support both Chat and Work modes.
The bookmarklet lets you:
-
Jump to the previous or next user prompt without manually scrolling through long responses.
-
Navigate using simple ↑ / ↓ controls.
-
Use a lightweight bookmarklet without installing a browser extension or Tampermonkey.
This is especially useful for long conversations where individual responses can span multiple screens.
While ChatGPT now provides a table of contents for some longer conversations, I still find direct previous/next prompt navigation useful for reviewing discussions step by step.

This is an unofficial community workaround. Since it depends on the ChatGPT web interface, further updates may be needed when the page structure changes.
Feedback is welcome, especially from anyone using long conversations in Work mode.
