Unexplained Usage - Chat Completions & Responses

We have an outstanding support case (#07666991) and have yet to hear anything back after following up 8 times. I am hoping that by making this post we will hear from someone.

Between April 10th and April 12th we flagged the following unexpected usage in one of our projects, and we aren’t able to see any logs to determine where this usage came from (we know where/how to look, the logs just aren’t available for these timeframes):

  • Apr 10: 852 requests, 86M input tokens (gpt-5.4 + gpt-5.4-pro + gpt-5.3-codex) — ~$216
  • Apr 11: 196 requests, 16.5M input tokens (gpt-5.4 + gpt-5.4-pro) — ~$57
  • Apr 12: 76 requests, 13.8M input tokens (gpt-5.4-pro only, long context surcharges) — ~$558

If someone from OpenAI support can please get in contact with me, I would greatly appreciate it. We are seriously concerned about this usage, and need to hear from someone ASAP.

The same happened to me (14-15 of april). My 40$ gone to the drain. Literally, tokens went from 760 to 0 in under a few minutes! What happened? Is it a bug or did they trully changed token rates in the blink of an eye?

I am having the same issue here. every second its consuming $0.5 - $1 even when i revoked all the API keys.

Same issue for me last night, revoked all keys and was still consuming a dollar a minute all night. Support ticket: 07792014. Now at a multi-hundred dollar negative balance

@OpenAI_Support any thoughts on this? Can you please acknowledge this thread or my support ticket? That ticket was created on Sunday April 12th and since then it’s been crickets.
