Unable to connect GitHub Auth to OpenAI Codex (Keeps Opening up the Configuration Page)

When I press the Codex Button in the ChatGPT interface, it takes me to the onboarding screen for Codex, as I go through the onboarding it asks me to link my GitHub account/Repositories. When I do that, I keep getting sent back to the GitHub App Configuration Page and Codex doesn’t recognize that I’m already signed in and authorized it for Codex. It just keeps asking me to select my github account and what repositories I want, over and over and over and over again. How do we get around this?

I got the same issue, after authentication with Github, it keeps redirect to the configure page in Github.

Same. This is insane. I couldn’t believe this bug could’ve persisted for over 24hrs

same here. not possible to connect. only redirect.

I got it to work, I had to go into my ChatGPT account settings, then disconnect the github connector from there, refresh the page, go back to settings, and connect your github account again. Then go to Codex and give that a try, it should see your repositories now.

Thanks Zigxi, your approach solved my problem.

It still doesn’t work. Every time I try to configure the Codex connector, I get an error before even attempting the connection: "Error with connector connection.

Same issue. It is broken. When you pay $200 a month, you’d think they would be a bit more responsive to these issues.

I’m still having this issue. Any ideas how to resolve?

Switch to cursor or copilot, cause this is ridiculous… for me it keeps asking some pin which I do not have set anywhere.

This worked for me too. Thanks for the solution.

I have several github accounts, I wasn’t able to use a second one using this solution. Can you please check @DumbugReporter

Yeah, this worked for me too.
