Unable to complete any run successfully for vision/image messages for all models

Anyone here facing the same issue? I’ve tried switching between older models and all of them lead to a run failure.

I realised it works for me when i turn off all my functions. However, this workaround isn’t practical as i have to turn off all the functions off my run which makes my AI essentially not doing its job.

Wonder if anyone has found a solution to this other than writing in to AI support.

Since 2024 the problem comes and goes … i try to set strict to false in my function call and it’s working , i can upload a picture. No need to remove all function.

Elevated Reproducible Errors on Assistants API Vision

Again, almost identical, one week later

Independently reproducible on OpenAI’s platform with the most basic strict structured output function and basic assistant attempting to run with a user file_id for vision.

run object returns: "status": "failed"

My function are in my backend and I also got the error.
Is the rest of your models are also quit slow ?

Thanks for reporting and sorry for the breakage—we just deployed a fix so images + structured outputs (or strict functions) are working again
